24th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade PDF Print E-mail


 

The A.O.H. Division 16, and Ladies A.O.H. Division 16 are proud to announce the 23nd annual St. Patrick's Day Parade was held on Saturday March 9, 2013 at 1:30p.m. on Main St. in Mount Kisco, N.Y. The celebration is Mount Kisco's traditional St. Patrick's Day Parade. A solemn mass was held prior to the parade at 11:30 a.m. St. Francis of Assisi Church  in Mount Kisco, NY.

The parade started on Main St. and Moore Avenue and ends at South Moger Ave. and Green St.in Mount Kisco, NY. The parade Grand Marshal this year was Oliver Doyle of Mt. Kisco. Oliver is President of O. Doyle Construction, a successful business for more than 33 years. Oliver’s craftsmanship and love for his trade, his heritage, and his community comes across in all he does.

The Hibernian of the Year is Grace Griffin. Grace and her husband George will soon celebrate their 24th anniversary. She is a dedicated and active member of LAOH where she cherishes the strong, kind, caring women who support their friends and their community.

The Friend of the Hibernians is Steve Young, owner of Minuteman Press of Mt. Kisco and is an active member of the Mt Kisco community, currently serving as the Secretary of the Rotary Club as
well as being a member of the Chamber of Commerce.

The parade featured over sixty marching groups such as military reenactment groups, marching bands, antique cars, antique NYC Police cars, Irish bagpipe bands and dancers, and many community organizations.

The A.O.H. Division 16 is a non-profit organization formed on September 13, 1891 and iscomprised of practicing Roman Catholic men and women of Irish descent living in the northernWestchester County area.

The parade is more than an ethnic celebration; it is also an event, which is a source of pride andenjoyment for all area residents. Several thousand people line the streets to enjoy the parademarch. The result is a benefit to area businesses and a positive image for our northernWestchester community. For further information or an application contact President John J.
